A free 25-question quiz on professional conduct, written to be sat by either stream.

Professional Responsibility is examined on both the Barrister and the Solicitor papers, and conduct questions arrive inside a subject's fact pattern rather than on their own. This quiz is the one exception we write neutral to both streams: it assumes no Barrister or Solicitor subject knowledge, so you can sit it cold before you have studied either syllabus. Untimed, like all our quizzes, and free: there is nothing to buy before you sit it.

What's included

  • One 25-question practice quiz on ethics and professional conduct, with its own question base
  • Two attempts, freshly ordered every time
  • No Barrister or Solicitor subject knowledge assumed, so it reads the same whichever paper you are writing
  • No overlap with our paid quiz packs or with our mock exams
  • Competency-level reporting, the same engine that runs on our full mock exams
  • Where a category is too small to judge honestly, we name it and say so rather than print a number you would act on

About the report

You get the same reporting engine that runs on our paid quizzes and our full mock exams: your answers broken down by competency, and a ranked list of what to work on first rather than a bare score.

What 25 questions cannot do is carry the rest of it. Some categories will rest on only a handful of answers, and where a category is too small to judge honestly we name it and say so rather than print a number you would act on. That is a limit of the sample, not of the engine.

The reporting on our full mock exams is a great deal more elaborate, and the reason is the paper itself: 160 questions across every area of law, sat under the clock. That volume lets the report show the cross-section between competency and area of law, so a weak subject narrows to a weak skill inside it, and weight every category by its share of the exam, so you can tell a gap in 40% of the paper from one in 10%. Because each answer is timed, it can show where your accuracy gives out across four and a half hours and whether your pacing holds. It can also surface the questions you answered quickly, never flagged, and still got wrong, which are the marks you cannot find by revising, because you were sure of them. None of that is available from 25 untimed questions, whichever engine sits behind them.

If it shows you that the conduct material is where your losses are, the Barrister and Solicitor Professional Responsibility packs go at it properly, in the fact patterns your own paper uses.

About explanations: explanations unlock at 60%. That is our own threshold, not a passing standard, because the Law Society does not publish one. It exists so the quiz cannot be farmed for an answer key by submitting blank attempts. Below it you still see every question you missed and the area of law and competency each one tested; sit it again after studying and the explanations open up.
