Canadian Law is the foundation subject of the paralegal paper. It covers how the legal system is put together: the division of powers between Parliament and the provinces, where statutes and regulations come from, how courts and tribunals are arranged and what each may hear, and the rights and freedoms that constrain all of them. A paralegal meets it whenever a question turns on whether a body has authority at all, and candidates who treat it as background reading tend to find that the paper treats it as a subject.

What does the Charter or the Human Rights Code change about the answer?
