Criminal and Quasi-Criminal Law is the paralegal paper's other procedural subject. It covers the summary conviction matters a paralegal may defend, the provincial offences that make up much of the work, and the process around both: how a charge starts, disclosure, the first appearance and what follows, the trial, sentencing and appeals, with the Charter running underneath every stage. Most of what is asked turns on which stage you are at and what the defendant, the prosecutor and the court may do there.
